  1. Hi,

I am looking for a gaming laptop less than 1000$. Lenovo Y580 is kind of old. So I am not interested in that. I heard that Asus does not provide quality customer service. Can you tell me which is the best laptop having decent customer service in case of any problems.

    • The Asus N56VJ has GT 635 which is kind of ok compared to GTX 660M. I am still researching various brands. Can you tell me about Sager laptops. I have never heard of them but apparently they deliver good gaming laptops. What is your take on them.

About the MSI, I have seen many reviews which say that despite a good rendering and fps, the laptop overheats and disconnects. You wouldnt want that if you are playing games like Dota2. The frequent disconnects will put you in a ban list.

      • Personally my friend has a MSI C Series CX61 and well it is true that it overheats when playing HIGHend games but you can put the fan on more power and it is ok. I have seen it and it preforms quiet well?

About disconnects and blue screens and stuff I have to disagree with other reviews on this as I saw he never had such problems and even gave me to test it for a few days. Solution could be to buy a Laptop Cooling Pad for it and you wouldn’t have such problems with this.

In dota 2 I think you wouldnt have such problems but lets say crysis 3 , tomb raider and such games you could encouter those without a cooling pad. As for disconnects well could be the internet maybe those people that wrote such reviews didn’t update drivers for it?

      • Heating is always a problem with laptops, even in non-gaming laptops, especially with extended use. While some heat up more than others, all of them do. Gamers and heavy users always use some kind of base with fan that can effectively dissipate heat. This is needed especially when using high end powerful laptops for extended periods of time. Gaming online can last your whole waking hours. So do yourself a favor and use some heat dissipation device beneath your laptop. Otherwise, expect the laptop to go down in power and reduce your playing to low game setting, or it will shut down automatically when a certain cutoff temperature detected on the CPU is reached.

  14. I’ve recently bought an HP Envy with a core i7-4510u and a GTX 850m 4gb ddr3, 12gb of ram and it even has a nifty 1tb Hybrid HDD the screen is the only complaint as it is non IPS and only 1366 by 768, but I overlooked it since it only cost me 639.99€ which was a bargain considering what it has, I was initially afraid the low voltage CPU may bottle neck the thing but so far it’s been a monster and with a bit of tweaking on the core and memory clock I managed to get the 850 to give me about 7-8 more fps per game, really happy with the card and laptop as they both run circles around my old Pavilion.

  17. I am looking at IdeaPad Y500 – 59360241 and Sager NP 6350 with the latter going slightly over 1000$. Tell me if Sager is good since they are offering ways to upgrade the laptop with a better GPU than Y500. Moreover I can add HDD/SDD with upgrade upto 24 GB RAM. I am not sure how flexible Lenovo is when it comes to laptop upgrades.
